"He Won’t Call Me Back?" Poem

He Won’t Call Me Back? Poem

So he tells me he loves me, but I can’t even get a phone call back?

What kind of duties would keep you from checking in on the one you love?

You sound delusional as you try to play this broken record of your greatest hits called

“Easy Let Downs and Disappointments on My Street.”

For me you can turn it OFF! I have already heard those sad songs from men far far greater than .

The walls of my heart ache to me touched by you,

but you are as hollow as a hole in a tree.

The games you play only rock me to sleep at night because now

I know it is time for me to walk away.

Walk away from the lies, the hurts, and the mistreatment.

I can now rest knowing you were never truly mine in the first place.

These eyes will never cry another tear. My heart has become, so black and cold;

it has no more room to spare.

I slam the door of resentment in your face and say you

are nothing more than a disgrace of tasteless beauty!

At last, I was never yours and you were never TRULY mine.

Your idea of a fairy-tale looked more like hell and for that reason

I had say goodbye, no more, and never again.

I was too good for you anyhow! Spoken like a woman truly hurt!
